Winter can be harsh on our skin, especially for those with dry skin. The cold weather, low humidity, and indoor heating can strip our skin of its natural moisture, leaving it feeling dry, tight, and dull. But don't worry, I've got you covered! In this blog post, I will share my top winter skin care favorites for dry skin, so you can achieve glowing and healthy skin all season long.

Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize:

The key to combating dry skin in winter is to moisturize regularly and with the right products. Look for moisturizers that are rich in hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and shea butter. These ingredients help to lock in moisture and create a protective barrier on the skin.

My Top Picks:

Quadruple Hyaluronic Acid Serum 5% : A hydrating serum is a must-have for dry skin in winter. It delivers a concentrated dose of moisture to the skin, helping to plump and hydrate it from within. This hyaluronic acid serum combines very low, low, medium and high molecular weight pure hyaluronic acid to hydrate and leave skin looking – and feeling – plump and supple and an absolute MUST in my winter skincare routine!

Plant Ceramide Rich Moisture Cream: Invest in a rich face cream that provides intense hydration and nourishment. Look for ingredients like squalane, glycerin, and natural oils. This Plant Ceramide Rich Moisture Cream has been my GO-TO moisturizer day and night for the last 3 years! So moisturizing and nourishing but still soaks into the skin beautifully so I can wear makeup over it with a flawless finish!

Phyto-Glow Lip Balm: Don't forget about your lips! A good lip balm with hydrating ingredients like beeswax, shea butter, and vitamin E can prevent dryness and chapping. This Phyto-Glow Lip Balm is formulated with phyto-derived esters, shea butter, cupuaçu butter and plant squalane to moisturize and cushion lips, leaving them feeling silky, soft and smooth. Adds a glowy finish in a clear or tinted options with a sheer wash of color. The best part... it's healing, hydrating and not overly sticky!!

Don't skip your eye cream!! There are so many amazing eye creams out there however the one I always seem to come back to and use the most consistently is the Naturium Multi-Peptide Eye Cream. It hydrates beautifully and is not sticky at all! My concealer sets up beautifully over it and I just love it! Plus, I turned my grandmother onto this Naturium skincare line and she swears at 80 her skin has never looked better! 🥰 We LOVE that!

Protect Your Skin:

Winter weather can be harsh on the skin, so it's important to protect it from the elements. Wear a scarf or a hat to cover your face and protect it from the cold wind. Also, don't forget to apply sunscreen, even on cloudy days, as the sun's rays can still damage your skin. My absolute FAVORITE sunscreen and most repurchased sunscreen is the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Light Revealer Natural Skin Illuminator Broad Spectrum SPF 25! Not only does it protect me from the sun... YES I wore it every day on my vacation in Kauai and I've never even gotten pink! Amazing! But it gives you the most BEAUTIFUL glow and just enough coverage for me on my no makeup days where I still feel pretty when I leave the house 🙂 The shade range can be a little tricky but it's SO good!!!

Exfoliate Gently:

Exfoliating helps to remove dead skin cells and allows your moisturizers to penetrate better. However, be gentle when exfoliating dry skin in winter. Opt for a gentle exfoliator with ingredients like jojoba beads or lactic acid, and limit exfoliation to once or twice a week. I have personally been struggling with clogged pores so my go-to exfoliators are the Naturium BHA Liquid 2% and the Naturium Vitamin C Super Serum Plus! Again I have been using both of these products for several years now! The Vitamin C Super Serum Plus completely changed my skin and I cannot say enough good things about it! And I have been using the BHA Liquid 2% since Naturium launched it! For a long time I used it just as a spot treatment on breakouts especially during my period but recently I've been struggling with clogged pores and I use it once a day to help clean up my pores! I use the Naturium Half Step Flash Facial once a week when I'm feeling like I need it. Plus I've incorporated the Clinique Blackhead Solutions 7 Day Cleanse into my daily routine in hopes to help but if I'm honest I am working with my doctors to see if my hormones are off or if I need to support my liver in some way because this isn't normal for me. I do enjoy the Clinique face wash but I don't think that it has magically made my clogged pores go away if you know what I mean! Just a reminder to stay curious when you have skin issues! Typically its caused from a food intolerance or a gut disbyosis.

Stay Hydrated:

Drinking enough water is essential for maintaining healthy and hydrated skin. In winter, it's easy to forget to drink water, but staying hydrated from the inside out can make a big difference in the appearance and feel of your skin. My FAVORITE hydration hack is to bring a water bottle with you WHEREVER you go!! I know everyone is obsessed with the Stanley Cups but I just don't get the hype... I have one and it leaks ALL over the place and drives me crazy... But I DO love a large water bottle that fits in my cup holder in the car which is why the Simple Modern 40oz tumbler is my all time favorite cup! Whatever is your jam just get a travel cup that you LOVE and that you want to take with you everywhere and I promise you will stay more hydrated

When you have more time:

I want to share some of my extras that REALLY make a difference in my skin and I notice when I actually do them. But as a busy mom and an entrepreneur ya girl is BUSY! So do I use these YES absolutely!! Do I do them as often as I would like... no! But that's OK! It's not about perfection ok!! So if you have some more time in your skincare routine and you have not incorporated an ice roller... LET ME TELL YOU!!! It is a GAME CHANGER!!! Not only does it feel amazing but you get some facial massage and it helps de-puff the skin especially the under eye area in the morning!! LOVE!!! I got this one on Amazon and it's absolutely delightful! And I always thought that eye patches were such a gimmick... but then I tried some and used the ice roller together and now I feel like I need to make this more of a routine! I got these Leave Pretty Anti-Puff Eye Patches from my coach and saved them for soooo long... and ya know what?!? Every day is a good day to spoil yourself! So if you are sitting on some fancy cream or perfume USE IT!!! YOU ARE WORTHY NOW!!! I wish I would have used them so much sooner because then I would have know how much I really enjoy them!

Conclusion:

With the right winter skin care routine, you can keep your dry skin hydrated, glowing, and healthy all season long. Remember to moisturize regularly, protect your skin from the elements, exfoliate gently, and stay hydrated. Incorporate these winter skin care favorites into your routine, and say goodbye to dry, dull skin!
